Penn State Faculty Attends NASA Workshop |
Dr. Albert Lozano, Professor of Engineering at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, recently participated in the 2010 Senior Design Workshop hosted by NASA’s Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (ESMD). The workshop, fully funded by NASA through the National Space Grant Foundation, took place at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where ESMD is housed.

Book Club Meeting: The Help & Red Hook Road |
 The Back Mountain Readers will hold its monthly book club meeting on Thursday, August 26th from 7-8:30 PM at Kingston Township Building, 180 East Center Street, Shavertown. The group will be yakking about the August Reading selections: "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett and "Red Hook Road" by Ayelet Waldman. Grab a copy of these great reads and come to our August meeting.

Misericordia Professor's Invention Will Assist in ADA Compliance |

Denis Anson, M.S., O.T.R., director of research and development for the Assistive Technology Research Institute (ATRI) at Misericordia University, has worn a lot of different hats in his professional career. Each one -- from construction worker to researcher and professor to occupational therapist -- has moved him one step closer to achieving an altruistic goal.
“My goal is to change the world,” Anson says matter-of-factly, “and make our environment accessible to everyone through objective standards that are easily determined through a series of yes-no, pass-fail answers that just about anyone can employ.’’
